As President and Founder of Clifford Capital, LLC, Mike Clifford partners with extraordinary founders at the earliest stages, providing the capital, networks, and strategic guidance to transform bold ideas into category-defining companies.
Mike began his career at JP Morgan in corporate finance. With a solid background in finance, Mike joined J. Walter Thompson in New York, where he was involved in the creation of global marketing strategies for Unilever, Chesebrough Ponds, and Nestlé Foods.
He subsequently founded Clifford Public Relations, LLC. With offices in New York and Los Angeles and a diverse staff of talented professionals, Clifford PR delivered public relations, branding, and strategic marketing services to a broad range of B2B and B2C clients, including: Nike, Crate & Barrel, AT&T Wireless, The Italian Tourism Board of North America, Visit London, LA MoCA, Hachette, Stetson, The South Street Seaport, Starwood Urban Investments, OpenTable, Jaguar, Land Rover, and Gensler Architects, among others.
Clifford PR was acquired by MDC Partners, LLC, a NASDAQ-traded company that specializes in the acquisition of best-in-class advertising, digital marketing, branding, and media relations companies.
He currently serves as a Board Director of SynDevRx, a Cambridge-based biotech company.
Mike graduated from The Lawrenceville School and received a B.A. cum laude from Cornell University. He is a trustee of The Lawrenceville School.
